Abstract
In this chapter we will concentrate on the treatment of foreign trade in some specific one-country models of economic development. The reason for this separate treatment in a study mainly concerned with multi-country models is that it enables us to focus attention on the specific assumptions about foreign trade usually made in such models of economic development, and on the implications of these assumptions within the framework of a theory of national economic development.
