Abstract
Recent developments in ultrasound, notably gray scale, have permitted visualization and recognition of multiple vascular structures within the upper abdomen. Several recent articles have depicted in meticulous detail the vasculature that surrounds the pancreas.1,2 The position of the pancreas can be accurately assessed by identifying these vessels. Additionally, displacement of vasculature adjacent to the pancreas may be a useful indicator of contiguous masses.
