Abstract
The ability of ultrasound to display the contents of the scrotum has proved beneficial in the pre-operative and clinical assessment of scrotal swellings. The technique enables abnormalities as small as a few millimetres to be recognised and is the only non-invasive technique which can successfully display the morphology of testicular lesions without any hazard to the patient.
