Abstract
The diagnosis of subphrenic abscesses is a difficult clinical problem. Even after an abdominal abscess is suspected following the development of nost operative fever, localization of the abscess may be a dilemma. Conventional techniques such as fluoroscopy of the diaphragm, barium studies and radionuclide imaging have been useful but more specific methods are desirable in the detection of subphrenic abscesses.
