Abstract
Predators rarely receive priority attention in considerations of maintenance or restoration of ecosystems, yet both functionally and symbolically, predators are central to these considerations. Predators play a key role in maintaining ecosystem integrity in terms of species and genetic composition, ecosystem functions, and long term stability.
