Abstract

The interfacial region between a metal and an electrolyte represents one of the most important environments in surface chemistry. The present paper is concerned with photoemission processes at this interface, but with the emphasis not only on chemical but also on physical aspects. The need for such an interdisciplinary approach in surface studies is increasingly recognized and is indeed exemplified in these Symposium Series. The selection of experimental topics and their discussion in this article are intended to reflect this attitude.
