Abstract
The enterovirus group, named in 1957,(21) brought together polioviruses, coxsackieviruses, and echoviruses, all of which inhabit the human alimentary tract. These viruses share a number of clinical, epidemiological, and ecological characteristics as well as physical and biochemical properties.
