Abstract

In the last chapter we noted that a neutral allele could change in frequency as a result of linkage to a locus under selection. We now consider this point in a little more detail. Our aim will be to identify situations in which the change in frequency of the neutral allele is large. Fortunately, results accord very much with intuition; a brief discussion should therefore suffice.
