Abstract

Iridoviruses, which replicate in the cytoplasm, have a double-stranded DNA genome of 100–130 × 106 daltons. The virions, which range from 130–300 nm, are icosahedral with a capsid of 1500 capsomeres. Many proteins, including several enzymes, are present in the virus particles.
