Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to provide a brief survey of the current knowledge about the cytophysiology of adrenocortical cells in vivo, with a particular emphasis to the few investigations concerning the human gland. Comprehensive references can be found in several specialized review articles (1–7). The ultra-structure of adrenocortical cells cultured in vitro is discussed in the Chapter 18.
