Abstract

The diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) rests on clinical criteria prosposed by the American Rheumatism Association. These have recently been revised to incorporate several serologic criteria and the revision (Table 1) is currently in press (1). Any four of the cited 11 manifestations in any sequence of time constitutes the diagnosis of SLE.
