Coupling of the Radiation Field to the Electron-Atom Collision System

  • Chapter
Fundamental Processes in Energetic Atomic Collisions

Abstract

Some general aspects of the coupling of the radiation field to the electron-atom collision system are noted. The case of electron bremsstrahlung in the atomic potential is studied in some detail. Positron bremsstrahlung and the influence of a high temperature high density environment are also discussed.
