Metabolic Activation of Carcinogens and Mutagens

  • Chapter
Book cover Molecular Biology of Mutagens and Carcinogens

Abstract

In this chapter we will first describe enzymes that are involved in the metabolic activation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and N-substituted aromatic compounds. Further, we will discuss some of the metabolic pathways and metabolites that are formed from these indirectly acting carcinogens.
