Current Theoretical Techniques for Electron-Atom and Electron-Ion Scattering

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Science Institutes Series ((ASIB,volume 90))

Abstract

I do not propose to give a comprehensive discussion of all the theoretical methods available for electron collisions with atoms and ions. There are many excellent text books, including that by Joachain,1 and a new edition of Bransden2 is in preparation. A brief general survey was given by Joachain3 at the first of these summer schools, and I will assume you are all familiar with its contents.
