Abstract

In the post World War II era, there has been an increased conciousness of the relation of population factors to a number of major world problems. Population growth and other aspects of population also have an important bearing on social change and economic growth, especially in the less developed nations. Although much attention has been focused on the relationship of high fertility and population growth rates to economic development, many other facets of population are also important.
