Abstract
Professors Ferree and Vaughn have given us a very clear and accurate account of Russell’s approach to moral education in early childhood. I agree with them, and with Russell, that genuine moral education involves the intentional fostering of desirable habits; that parents and teachers should attempt to educate character and promote the virtues in the young; and that such education is not, and should not strive to be, morally neutral.
