Abstract

For the gunnery training of tank gunners and commanders a complete simulation system has been developed encompassing the entire turret crew compartement, the battle terrain, and the observations of the crew during the process of system handling and target engagement.

The evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of the tank crew training system has shown that the annual operating cost of the tank corps training system may be reduced, and that the simulator is an adequate device for training tank gunners and commanders in preliminary gunnery training and firing practice.
