Abstract
Bronchial carcinoma is a common disease killing over 30,000 people in Great Britain every year. It affects subjects from the age of 40 to over 70 with an average incidence around the age of 50–60. Men are more commonly affected than women. Smoking is strongly associated with squamous and anaplastic small cell carcinoma of the bronchus.
