Abstract
This chapter contains scales and listings that are concerned with courts and the law. Three groupings of scales are included: (1) Those dealing with courtroom personnel, roles, processes, and events; (2) those relating to probation and parole officers, judges and sentencing, court volunteers, and diversion; and (3) those relating to the law—attitudes toward justice, law, and capital punishment. The scope of coverage ranges further to juvenile courts, pretrial programs and participants, and due process and citizen rights. To our knowledge, researchers have not developed instruments to measure personality traits or behavior ratings related to court processes; thus these categories have no entries in this chapter, aside from two competency assessment measures. As in Chapter 6, the largest number of entries is in the category of attitude scales.
