Abstract

In recent years, clinicians have enthusiastically welcomed the combined use of behavior therapy and pharmacotherapy to broaden the scope and enhance the effectiveness of psychiatric treatments. Yet few of the studies on this subject in the behavioral literature were controlled clinical trials, and very few indeed examined the specific contribution of pharmacotherapy. Reasons for this paucity of data are worth looking at before reviewing the research literature.
