The Dynamics of Molecular Crystals: III. Infrared and Raman Intensity of Lattice Bands
The lattice vibrational frequencies,observed in the infrared and Raman spectra or in neutron scattering experiments,represent the most important body of experimental data for the study of the dynamical behaviour of the molecular crystals.From them one obtains precise and detailed information about the intermolecular potentials and about the cooperative motions of the molecules in the solid phase.
