Abstract

I would like to present some new results from the MSU-Fermilab collaboration on deep inselastic muon scattering. Our Group has accumulated both single muon and multimuon data. Since analysis of our single muon scattering data is at a more advanced state and the preliminary conclusion is somewhat interesting, I will concentrate in that measurement.

  8. See, e.g., A. Buras and B.G.F. Gaemers, Nuclear Phys. B132 (1978);and private communication. The parton distributions for the proton with a scale parameter ˄ = 0.5 GeV/c at q02 =2(GeV/c)2 are xS = (1-x)8, xG = 2.41 (1-x)5, xC = 0, xuv =3/B(0.7,3.6),x0.7 (1-x)2.6 and xdv = 1/B(.85,4.35) x0.85 (1-x)3.35. For the neutron, uv and dv distributions are interchanged. ˄ =0.5 GeV/c is preferredVby recent fits to lepton scattering data. [See for example, I. Hinchcliffe and C. H. Llewellyn-Smith, Nucl. Phys.
