Abstract

On behalf of the Department of Radiation Biology and Biophysics I am delighted to welcome you to this 12th in the series of International Conferences on Environmental Toxicology. As the Dean has noted the Department is heterogenous in interests and faculty, and has had the remarkable breadth to support the variety of topics represented in the last eleven conferences. We consider the topic of this conference to be particularly germaine and certainly a timely one in terms of both regional and national concerns.
