Abstract

The first clinical studies with Bleomycin (BLM) were conducted by Ichikawa in 1965 and revealed effectiveness against squamous cell carcinoma of the penis. In 1970, at the Radiumhemmet, Stockholm, BLM was given as the sole treatment in three patients with advanced penile carcinoma. Local response of the tumours to therapy was good in two patients; one has now been living over seven years with normal sexual function and micturition.
