Summary

Ten patients with locally recurrent and/or metastatic bladder cancer were treated with 5-Fluorouracil on day 1–3 and Adriamycin on day 4, every three to four weeks up to a maximum dose of Adriamycin of 500 mg/m2.

Four objective regressions were obtained. In addition there was good relief of severe pain in three patients and disappearance of haematuria and frequency in three and two patients respectively. Side effects during treatment, though sometimes pronounced, were transient.
