Autologous Human Skin Flaps in Partial Replacement of the Bladder Wall

Part of the Ettore Majorana International Science Series book series (EMISS, volume 1)

Different materials, eg. muscular fascia, intestine, peritoneum and synthetic products, have been used with varying degrees of success as partial replacement for the wall of the bladder (1–5,7,8). For several years now, our hospital has also been dealing with the problem of partial replacement of the bladder. Lyophilized dura and skin have been tested and applied in animal experiments and clinically (3, 5).
