Mechanistic Aspects of the Vanadium (V) Catalysed Oxidation by Hydrogen Peroxide

  • Chapter
Fundamental Research in Homogeneous Catalysis

Abstract

The catalysis by certain transition metals in the oxidation of alkenes as well as other nucleophilic substrates by hydrogen peroxide has been the first of this family of reaction to be described by Milas et al. in the 30’s.1 However, very few mechanistic studies have been since reported on these systems.
