Experimental Demonstration of Phase Relation for Common Doorway States

Abstract

A recently developed technique permits the measurement of the relative sign of inelastic decay amplitudes of resonances. Results for a fragmented analogue state establish that for an isolated common doorway, the product of the amplitudes has the same sign for all individual resonances.
