Abstract
Eleven new levels in 196Au were identified by studying the 197AU (γ,n) reaction using monoenergetic photons in conjuction with a high-resolution n-spectrometer. The photon source was obtained by n-capture in Fe, Ni and Cr. The Q-value of the reaction was determined to be 8066 ± 3 keV.
