Investigating Nuclear Structure with the (n,γ) Reaction

  • Chapter
Neutron Capture Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy

Abstract

Following a historical introduction, laboratories presently working in (n,γ) studies and their instrumentation are discussed. The main advantages of the (n,γ) reaction are presented. Examples of present research and achievements in (n,γ) spectroscopy are described. An outlook for future (n,γ) research and future instrumentation is given.
