Abstract

All of us are aware, particularly when we try to keep up with the literature, of the tremendous growth rate of the field of ion-neutral reactions. Eighteen years ago, Lampe, Franklin, and Field (1961) compiled the ion-neutral rate constants that were known at the time. There were a little over a hundred; now there must be thousands (e.g., see Ferguson, 1973; Sieck and Lias, 1976; Huntress, 1977; Albritton, 1978; and Sieck, 1979).
