Abstract

I am going to present a formulation 1 of QCD which leads to the much speculated about string-like quantized electric flux tubes. My approach is heavily based on a new set of quantized variables. The new variables satisfy commutation rules which are equivalent to the canonical commutation rules of the ordinary gauge potential and electric field in an axial gauge. The latter variables are explicitly constructed in terms of the new variables.
