Acute Renal Failure Associated with Leptospirosis

  • Chapter
Acute Renal Failure

Abstract

Leptospirosis is one of the common infectious diseases in the tropics caused by leptospires. Leptospira interrogans is the only species divided into two complexes: the interrogans complex and the biflexa complex. The interrogans complex, with its 18 serogroups and 130 serotypes, is pathogenic, while the biflexa complex is saprophytic.
