Abstract
Gossypol does indeed prove to be a simple, safe, economical, and reversible method of male contraception, an understanding of its biochemical mechanism of action will be essential, since such elucidation may lead to the development of synthetic compounds exhibiting the desired antifertility effect without the toxicity so far noted in animals and in humans.
