Abstract

The first decade (1972–82) of positron-gas scattering experiments performed with slow positron beams has been primarily concerned with the measurements of total scattering cross sections for positrons colliding with the inert gases and various molecules, which was the subject of the preceding paper presented at this Workshop.1 In this paper the focus of attention will be placed on positron scattering experiments performed with slow positron beams which extend beyond total cross section measurements. Included in this category are measurements of differential and inelastic cross sections for the scattering of positrons by atoms and molecules, and searches for positron scattering resonances.
