Experimental Study of Hot-Electrons in Silver Halides at Crossed Electric and Magnetic Fields

Abstract

In a majority of hot-electron investigations, the electron distribution function in momentum space is assumed to be nearly isotropic.1 This assumption is justified if the dominating scattering mechanism is of quasielastic character, as in the case of impurity or acoustical phonon scattering. Furthermore, if the electron-electron scattering is significant, a Maxwellian type distribution function characterized by the electron temperature can be assumed.
