Clinical Experience with the Caged-Ball STARR-EDWARDS® Prosthesis

The STARR-EDWARDS® valve is associated with the birth of prosthetic valve surgery. Although it was not the first successful valve to be implanted in the anatomical position, it was the first prosthetic valve to gain universal acceptance.
