Abstract
By taking a completely new approach to cutting external involute gears, industry’s first general-purpose gear generating center has been developed. The system includes universal computer software, a CNC machine, and a new type of standardized indexable carbide milling cutters. Production rates greatly exceed present gearmaking methods, costs are markedly reduced, and versatility is essentially unlimited.
