Thermogravimetric and Electrical Conductivity Studies of Mg-DOPED LaCr03 and La-DOPED SrTi03

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSB,volume 129))

Abstract

SrTi03 is known to be an n-type oxide (1–3) with predominantly oxygen vacancies. Fredrikse, et al. (4) report that it is a band type conductor, the band gap as determined by optical methods (5) is reported to be 3.15 ev (304 KJ/mole) at 0°K. The conduction band is believed to be composed of the 3-d orbitals of the Ti ions (6). SrTiO3 shows a p-n transition due to the presence of acceptor impurities (3, 7).
