Abstract

By constructing bone marrow chimaeras between F1 mice and either parent it becomes possible to determine whether any particular accessory cell type subject to renewal is derived from stem cells present in the donor bone marrow (b.m.). Necessary conditions are that the cell type can be identified and clearly distinguished from other cells, and that appropriate reagents are available to distinguish between cells of the F1 donor and parent recipient origin.
