Abstract
A system that combines a marsh pond and forest to provide wastewater treatment and a marketable crop has been in operation in Martinez, California since October, 1978. The simplicity and low cost of the system make it particularly well-suited to developing countries where it could provide an effective means of advanced waste treatment and water reuse.
