Abstract

The current status of experiments to determine the mass of the different kinds of neutrinos is given in Table 1. The most stringent results are available for the electron antineutrino mass, results that are coming from a series of successive refinements of the experimental techniques to measure the shape near the upper end-point of the β- spectrum from the tritium decay. Further improvements in this technique are to be expected; the striking conclusion reached by Lyubimov et al. \( {m_{\overline {{\nu _e}} }} \cong 35eV\) has redirected much effort into 3H experiments.
