Abstract
The concept of lipoprotein families (1) defines the lipoprotein family as the base for the lipoprotein system. The lipoprotein family is characterized by a single apolipoprotein as protein moiety. The following lipoprotein families have been identified: Lp-A-I, Lp-A, Lp-B, Lp-C, Lp-D, Lp-E and Lp-F. This paper deals with the isolation and partial characterization of the lipoprotein families A-I (Lp-A-I) and A (Lp-A) from the high density lipoproteins of human serum.
