Abstract and Introduction

The study of charm particle lifetime has progressed enormously in these years, from chaos to the point where measurements are consistent within rather large errors. Before summarizing the present data, the early results from cosmic ray studies are briefly reviewed. To go further, higher statistics study will be urgently needed in which errors of the order of a few percent should be aimed at.
