Abstract

Since “human factors” can be defined as dealing with the interactions between technology and individuals, it follows that this field should play a major role in examining the relationships of aging and technology. This interest has indeed been demonstrated in a special issue of Human Factors on aging in 1981, in the existence of a Technical Group on Aging in the Human Factors Society, and in various presentations at the Society’s Annual Meetings.
