Abstract
A summary of the Symposium discussion on the relationship between technological change, health and stress is presented in this chapter. First, we discuss the topic of health in relation to technological change; then outline a model which suggests the paths through which technological change can make an impact on health. The latter section includes a discussion of the role of stress as an intervening variable between technogical change and health. It should be noted that, for this discussion, specific medical advances were not considered.
