Abstract

Research into alcoholic phenomena has made great strides in recent years (1), Much of our understanding of tolerance, withdrawal from brain depressants, and postwithdrawal syndromes has arisen from careful observation of alcoholics, making comparisons with the physiological status of normal controls.
