The Circuit Simulation Problem

Abstract

As mentioned in the introduction, circuit simulation amounts to solving numerically the system of nonlinear ODE’s that describes the dynamic behavior of a circuit. In this chapter, we will address three topics: the construction of a system of differential equations from the description of a circuit, the mathematical properties of the constructed systems, and the issues to consider when choosing a numerical method for solving the system.
