Abstract
Although Mexico is geographically part of North America, its climatological features are more similar to Central and South America as are its agricultural activities and phytosanitary problems.
Due to reasons beyond the control of the author the text was not submitted in time for inclusion in the book. However, it has been possible to include a summary of the paper which will be published in full in Nematologia mediterranea.
