Summary
The German astronomical X-ray satellite ROSAT will perform the first all-sky survey with an imaging telescope. The large number of expected new source detections poses severe requirements on a fast and high quality data evaluation. In the context of the general mission goals the main data evaluation methods are described. Special emphasis is given to the organizational data handling structures applied to the Standard Data Processing.
